Completed CoreSpringV3.0 Core Spring 3.0 Certification with 86 % last week

Hi All,

Just completed the CoreSpringV3.0 Core Spring 3.0 Certification Exam with a score of 86%. It was very exciting to see the results immediately after the exam. Kind of a thrilling experience. I am going to share my experience of preparation of the exam, getting the right mind set, going through different study materials, adopting to the right approach and finally some mock questions. The reason behind this post is to educate people to prepare in the right direction. Because, I went through the same phases prior to the exam, and there was no single place, where I could get the right direction. Finally, I took the decision to come up with my own approach, and that really worked very well. So you can follow the same and pass the exam very well, after going through my blogs.

And I followed one only one quote throughout this preparation " God has given you a brain, but don't forget he has given you a heart". So listen to both. I followed my brain, in finding out the details at different sites and come up with a list of things to do to prepare. But just before a week from the exam, my heart said, somehow, the information is misleading. We really don't need to get diverted that much, in stead be focused to the the content as mentioned in the core-spring-3.0-certification-study-guide. For example, in all the mock exams you download, you get variety of questions covering many different areas some of which are not necessary at all. A quick example is Spring Expression Language (SpEL), which is not at all there in the certification-study-guide. But you get question from that area in many listed mock exams. So you spend time in learning that, which is not necessary at all. Similarly REST, which is not there at all. So if you do not waste time in learning these, and instead spend the same time in learning what is there, then its a very big advanatage.

I initially wasted time in learning everything, what I was seeing in the mock exams, I was trying out, but as said earlier, just before a week from the exam, I followed my heart, and focused on only the topics relevant to the exam as mentioned in the certification-study-guide.

So the key word to be successful is "Stay Focused" and you will find it really very easy when you sit to appear the exam.

Will post more specific blogs soon.
